Mike,

You can try but there are often zerks that will not take grease without lifting.

The Morride shackle instructions said to make sire the holes on the bolts are at 9 and 3 o’clock positions so you can grease without jacking trailer up. If at 12 and 6 the weight pressure will not let grease flow, which makes sense. Just wondering if anyone greases their bolts without jacking up trailer. I’ll give it a try and see.

I can on mine. When you install them put the grease hole at either 9 o’clock or 3 o’clock and they should take grease under trailer weight. If the grease hole is at 12 or 6 they have problems taking grease because of the campers weight.

Maybe. It depends on the orientation of the lube hole to the brass bushing. If you can t feel the grease gun pushing the grease in, then the hole is solid against the bushing with trailer weight on it. Then you must lift the trailer to take the weight off and begin lubing. When grease is seen coming out at the spring eye you,re done. Back to original poster,s question.

I was able to get 4 fittings to take grease. The rest would not. It should be a simple preventative measure that is more difficult than needed by design. Chances of getting all bolt through holes set up perfectly to accept lubricant is impossible.
