Question Pretty blue cap lights

I don't know if any one has done this, but I was wondering if any 2014 Montana owners have ever replaced the pretty blue string of cap lights on their fiver? They appear to be siliconed in place in the grove, but I'm really unsure if that is a DIY project or a dealer repair deal.

PS: I found a thread that had lots of suggestions for replacement and how to replace.

People have done it both ways. Lots of posts on those and awning lights.

The light strip is indeed double-back taped and siliconed. At one end, there's a small hole drilled and the two leads attach to a small harness taped to the cap shell. Easy job, just don't let the harness fall through the hole in the cap. I wrapped the wires around a key ring to keep them from falling through. Clean off the old silicone with WD-40 or Goo Gone. Then peel the backing and place the strip in the groove and apply a dab of silicone every 8 or so inches. Make sure to refill the hole with sealant as well.
