Unhappy How Do you Access the Hot Water Tank?

Hi! We have a 2021 Keystone Montana High Country 376FL. We have cold water but not hot water. No water comes out at all when you move the faucet to hot. We have researched everywhere and want to believe the check valve needs replaced. However, I cannot find any access to it. Has anyone experienced this and/or know how to access this part of the hot water tank? Thanks!

Was it winterized? It may be bypassed.

Hi! Appreciate your response! It was not winterized as we've been living it in since July. We know for sure it is not bypassed and all switches are on. It does not work on electric or propane. We really just need to know where to access the water tank check valve.

Unfortunately I don't know the location or the process for your unit. I do know that you should be able to access all plumbing by removing the basement wall in the pass through.

Found this on google. I don't know how helpful it will be but surely entertaining

The check valve is on the back of the water heater. There is a diagram of the location in the manual pointed to by this link (see page 10) https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...?do=file&id=56

There is a troubleshooting manual by following this link. https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...?do=file&id=57

To check that the bypass valve is NOT the problem, this is the process. Carefully open the temperature / pressure relief valve. With city water flowing, or the pump pumping water, when the water heater is full, water will come out of the relief valve. Exercise care. If hot water is released, you could be scalded. If you get hot water is likely is a problem with the check valve.

The check valve can be hard to remove. It is in there tight and maybe hard to reach depending where it is located. Access from behind the pass through wall is easier than having to dissemble a cabinet for access.

Just in case all the valves are in the proper position, the check valve will be at the top of the back of the water heater tank, and it will likely be very tight when you go to remove it, and need a big wrench or pipe wrench. Do make sure electric and gas is turned and the anode is removed to drain the tank, just in case there is water in it under pressure.

Appreciate all the links. Unfortunantley those must be for older models. We cannot find any access points to the hot water tank. Before we start pulling out walls, does anyone have this exact model and found access without tearing everything out? 2021 Keystone Montana High Country 376FL. Fingers crossed!

Do you have a convenience center where there are water valves, drain pulls, and water connections? If you do, where is the water heater located relative to the convenience center? Also, where the convenience center is located, is there a plastic panel extending into the pass through next to the convenience center?

I don't know how you would access the water heater - just a thought...have you tried removing the panel under the sink to see if it gives you access to the side to look at connections? The basic heater should pull out from the outside but I don't know how much pigtail they gave you on the water and electrical conncetions.

On our Montana you go thru the basement wall, on our high country you remove a panel on the island.
