Apollo Mirco

Well, the original Apollo Mirco/Conv finally has a problem.

The mirco works, it's just the door open button has failed, with my coffee inside.

I got the door open from researching on the MOC. Also, a temporary fix so i can use it.

Question, what models has anyone used to replace the original?

My Apollo micro/conv in my 2007 died after about 5 yrs. That Apollo had a rear hot air exhaust vent. But it also had a plenum from that vent that went up the back and over the top to exhaust the hot air out thru the front decorative panel. Otherwise the hot air would be trapped inside the cabinet. That couldn’t be good for the cabinet or the unit. I could not find a different brand with a similar front vent method. Even though the Apollo had a poor reliability rating I bought another to replace it. And it was still working in 2021 when I sold it. But I don’t think that is an option now.

Greg,

I recently replaced our microwave with a GE that could be set up as a front or rear vent. Fairly easy swap.
