Slide issue

Found kitchen counter and cabinet pulled away from the wall about a 1/2 inch, at an angle on our 2015 Mountaineer 310RET. When the slide is extended the counter and cabinet seat properly. I looked under the slide with the slide extended and can see the brackets attached to the slide bars on both front and rear are bent inwards, as if something pushed the upper part of the slide in. Neither the slide or RV has ever been hit. Any ideas as to what may have caused this?

Since you have a 2015 unit, contact Keystone Customer Service and get a file started with them. Your unit is under warranty and they will instruct you on what to do. They may tell you to take it to your dealer for repair OR they may have you bring it into their service center in Goshen, IN for repair. But in any case, contact Customer Service and go from there. Let us know what you find out and what they say also.

Sounds like the inward travel adjustment was set wrong when unit was built to me. It would be weird for the factory to weld both pieces on wrong and then bend both brackets to allow for slide operation...but I also can't understand why there wouldn't be damage to slide flange outside if the slide was set to move inward too much. This is a good one. John

Waited to replu until determination was made. Keystone initially stated, based on photos it was not warrantable. We had taken the unit to the dealer for warranty work and noted the issue after we returned home. The issue did not exist prior. With some discussion between Keystone, the dealer and us, the parts and labor to effect the repair will be covered. The outside slide frame bar has to be replaced and the slide brackets straightened. The part has to come from Lippert and won't be shipped till the 4th. Puts us about 10 days behind on our snowbird plans.

Will the repair for the kitchen counter and cabinet also be paid for by Keystone?

Dealer will take care of counter top and cabinet. Problem is we are still waiting for a part to come from Lippert to our local dealer, ordered 12-22. I even involved a Keystone Product Manager, still no answer as to if or when the part is shipping. I keep hearing how backed up Lippert is on orders due to the Holidays. Worst part is the campground will not refund money for the time missed. DW is really getting riled. I don't think Lippert will get that order for the level up, but will hear plenty at the next rally!

Found out Monday Lippert changed computer systems during the Holidays. It appeared the order for our slide frame part went into computer limbo. With persistent assistance from Keystone the order was corrected and the part shipped. We will try to get the rig through the snow to the dealer today. With any luck we will be on our way south by Friday or Saturday.

Good luck gang! Hope you're not getting any of the "lake affect" snow where you're at and you get the unit to the dealer OK. Then HOPEFULLY they will be able to put the part on and get you on the road to the sun and warm air! We're hoping to get out also by the end of the month or so to get away from this Nebraska Winter! Let us know how things go and if you finally get on your way.

We are getting the lake affect, although not as much as Western New York state. After a season in storage the snow blower refused to start. So, I put that Duramax in 4WD and backed up into the yard, hooked up and managed to get the rig to the dealer. Work has started and is expected to be completed tomorrow! Anther inch or two is expected tonight. So it may be another adventure getting it back home to pack. Our goal is to leave very early Friday morning and make it well into KY. We will keep you all posted. Rondo, hope you have good weather to make your escape to better climate. Best Regards to all.

Well the saga continues. The dealer completed the repairs on Friday and we picked it up. Problem was the temperature went into the upper 40s. At home, We tried to back the unit up to its' pad. Could only get about 1/3 of the way and got stuck. So we left it there and began packing. It begins to rain...and rain...and rain. When we tried to get to the street, the wheels sank to the hubs. Had to get towed off. OK, you all can quit laughing now. We made to a campground north of Indianapolis. A slight downhill grade. Scared the DH and I half to death when the rig began sliding one way and the TV the other. Managed to recover and get to the campsite. Hopefully management can have the hill salted in the morning so we can be on our way. Hope to be south of Nashville tomorrow.

Rondo, hope your travels are going well.

We didn't make it out Sunday. Early snow squalls left the roads too icy. So we hunkered down, played some movies and did some chores. Wind howled and temp went down to -1 Sunday night. Monday was sunny but cold. Departed in the morning for warmer climes. Reached a campsite in Cornersville, TN. Temp here is 13. lol Heading to southern AL this morning. Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes.
