Have not had any issues with ours. We love the MORryde steps.

I wonder if the replacement is the correct size? There is not a lot of clearance.

How did the original door get damaged? If you don't open the entrance/screen door all the way, the steps will hit the doors when you take them down.

OK, I have the new, new MorRyde 2.0 stow-able steps. Our first 2018 had the steps with the lock handle in the middle, no issues at all, the new 2018 (replacement trailer) has hydraulic Assist/strut stow steps with no lock BUT it is causing the screen door to bind on the right side and the outer door to close hard. it is denting and marring the aluminum door on the right side where the stop pad is on the steps. Same problem as you?

You need to adjust the length of your steps using the adjustable ends. Make them shorter and the steps go down more allowing doors to properly close. We had same problem with ours first stop after leaving dealer.

We found the same problem when we received our new 3950BR. When storing the stairs, the screen door hit the stairs. Also, the outer door pressed against the screen when closed. To make matters worse, the space for the deadbolt lock was insufficient. This caused the door to open while the rig was being towed. Found that out on the freeway doing 63 mph.

I had installed the MorRyde stairs on our previous rig and referred to the installation manual still in my possession. The distance from the threshold to the front of the StepAbove hinge plate should be 15/16". There should also be 1/8" clearance between the inside lip on the door jamb and the outside edge of the step on each side.

When I measured the distance from the threshold to the hinge plate on the new rig, it was 3/4" on one side and 13/16" on the other. Since we were only a few weeks from the National Rally, we waited to show this to Keystone service. A simple template and a couple of side to side measurements should have made this a simple and quick installation. Sounds like Jeff Banning has the same issue.

At the rally, Keystone replaced the steps, the screen door and corrected the space for the deadbolt lock.

WeBe Fulltime is correct. When the stairs are deployed, the length has to be adjusted to allow the doors to properly close.

My steps mentioned are the new/new MorRydes, they are not like my previous 2018 3950BR steps, these have a hydraulic assisted setup on the left side of the step. It may be like said they are installed wrong but appears screen door was never designed for the stop plates on the left and right side and are binding it up.

These steps no longer have the twist lock in the center like the old ones did...

Mine are also the new design with the hydraulic assist and no latch.

Jeff, I've seen the hydraulic Step Above installed. There was no interference with the screen door or entrance door. The DW didn't care for them as she was afraid she would trip over the strut mounted on the inside. Perhaps you could contact MorRyde and request the installation specifications and determine if the installation was performed correctly. If it was not, it would be a warranty issue.
Best Regards.

We changed the OEM steps to aluminum ones that fold into the outside of the trailer. I never cared for the steps that fold up into the inside of the Montana. Just my opinion.

Mel and Lucinda,

I don't understand your statement. What are licking steps? If I understood your statement, perhaps we could assist.
Best Regards.

OP stated - We have a 2017 3720 with the new style stairs that are locked in the door way.

I'll bet Mel and Lucinda meant "We are having the same problem but we don’t have the locking steps"
