Micro air Thermostat

Considering this upgrade. Are you able to monitor temp in unit when you are gone and pet is in RV? Can you set alerts for temperature variations?

As Scott said, yes you can set alerts and monitor temp when away, but only if you have wifi set up in the rig (or CG wifi). The bluetooth connection for the thermostat is only good for about 33 feet.

We have Two of the micro air thermostats. I was wary on the price and did one, then loved it so much we got the second one.
You can get the alerts on temps, and adjust it from anywhere you have cell phone signal (provided the thermostat has a wifi connection)

One feature i like is that you can turn your thermostat off and on from your phone. so if you get the occasional freeze lockout while you are away from the camper, you get the temp alert, by that time the ice has melted and you can take out your phone, turn off your thermostat back at the camper, and then turn it back on.

I actually just posted an article on my top 5 recommended camper upgrades on our blog and this is number one on my list.

A great upgrade over the Dometic ones. I think they are $250.00 a piece, and take 5 minutes to install.

You guys just cost me $250.....

Ordered yesterday, website says 7-10 days to process. It shipped today (Monday), tracking says I should have it Friday. Of course, it's USPS, so it's in the hands of the Gods, but one can hope.

I've been looking for something like this for a while. OK, maybe not actively looking, or I would have found it already, but wanting. I'm a full timer, and when I go away for a period of time, it will be nice to have the 5er at a decent temp when I come back. Not to mention the cycling problems the stock thermo seems to have. Only ordered one for the main living area (for now).

Got it yesterday (Friday), as promised. Installation truly is about 5 minutes with a hand screwdriver. Just make sure to write down the colors of the wires from the old thermostat.

Downloaded the app, got everything connected (BlueTooth, WiFi), seems to work fine. Time will tell, but liking it so far.

Bought 2 myself and love them. Just remember to save your old thermos so when you move to another camper you can put the old ones back on as most people will not know what they are looking at or what there used for, this goes for dealers to.

Yep, I used the little plastic expansion anchors that came with the new one to put on the screws of the old one to keep them from getting lost, and to keep me from sticking myself when I dig around in whatever dark box I put them in until I sell.

So you say you have two of them. My unit (3791RD) has two HVAC units and thermostats. If I get a second and put it in the bedroom, my assumption is that it will not interfere with the first? I.e., no "dueling thermostats"? For my purposes, I don't think I really *need* to replace it, but knowledge is power.

it's nice being in bed and using your phone to turn on/off your A/C or furnace.

I have a 2019 3791RD and 2 of the Micro Air thermostats. No problem with any interference. They both work via bluetooth and wifi. The one in the kitchen even recognized the heat pump in our rear AC.

Micro Air

Thanks for the positive feedback. We have never succeeded in getting the Bluetooth connection, it either flashes the symbol or is non existent. Also, how do you set it up to receive alerts?

You can set up alerts in the app on your smart phone.
If you haven't connected via bluetooth, then I don't think you can have it connected to WIFI either. The settings for WIFI are configured through the app and pushed to the device via bluetooth. Without either connection, you won't be able to get any alerts or control it without using the touch screen.
Within the app, choose the gear icon and then Add Device. You'll need to be pretty close the thermostat (just a few feet away) in order to connect to it.

MicroAir Tstat

RMcNeal

We are connected to Wifi. But through hours of attempts to connect, and troubleshoot, we cannot connect MicroAir bluetooth to our Samsung S21. It shows up as loaded on the phone but when you try to enable it....it says "an app is needed to use this device". We have the Samsung bluetooth app loaded on the phone, so we are baffled as to why we cannot connect the bluetooth. In reading, I suspect this is a bug somewhere between Android and Google and Samsung. Consequently, we have never seen an alert option.

You need to install the Micro Aire app. Search Google Play for the "Easy Touch RV" app and install it. From there, you'll be able to get it set up.
