Camera system

I have the furrion side n rear cameras on my 2021 3761fl Montana. I seen other campers that use their cameras when parked as a security system. Anyone done this and if so how did you do it? What’s additional wiring did you have to purchase? Thanks in advance for any info.

I dont have all those cameras, just the Furrion rear backup and observation system. With that said, I can jumper my power cord to activate the running lights, then plug in my monitor and use the rear camera while inside the coach. Im betting its the same way with the set up you have.

I have the same system. As you recall you must have the truck's running lights on which powers all the cameras. You have to figure a way to run 12 volt power to your running lights but all the running lights on the RV as well as the camera will be on

Pin 3 on your 7 pin connector is the running lights. Pin 4 is the 12v charging circuit. You can use a 15 amp fuse and jump across the pins and it should activate your running lights. If running lights are on, cameras should be active. Now you just need to power the monitor.

I, personally, purchased the total Furrion camera system and believe it was a total waste of money. I will not install the camera over the RV door.

The issues you describe on wiring are a problem, at least for me. I decided that for my next trip that I'm not even going to use my Furrion system, even for driving.

I don't know the answer on the best security approach. I might consider a good game camera or two.

We have the system you are describing in our Luxe. Our system is powered all the time as it wired into our 12v panel. The RV Factory does install a switch to shut off the power if needed to service it. We just take the monitor into the trailer when needed and adjust the sensitivity to the desired motion detection. We love the 4 camera system we have.
