Heat Pump Trouble: tripped breaker and smells hot

Yesterday afternoon, we returned to our parked 5th wheel and unloaded back into it. The weather wasn’t extreme as we unpacked (no coat required), but it had clearly rained just before we returned.
Last night, We noticed that the heat pump wasn’t warming the rig and, upon further inspection, wasn’t coming on at all. Breaker was tripped. Flipped the switch and it turned on almost immediately. BUT it smelled like hot electronics throughout the rig very fast and tripped the breaker right away. What are we up against? I can’t find the perfect thread that already covers this. Thankfully, the furnace is working....but this isn’t good news for us and our timelines. Yes, still under warranty, but we’re parked somewhere that we cannot move it out immediately.

Family of 5 really appreciates any knowledge contributions!
