??? Hankook Tire Question

Has anyone ran with Hankook 235/85R/16 Trailer tires. They are G rated and rated for over 4000lbs, 14ply and speed rated at 81 (never run over 65). Got a great deal from discount so thought I would give them a try.

Tires.....well I don't have any experience with Hankook, a south Koren made tire. All I can say is when it comes to trailer tires, I'm going with main stream thumbs up. Sailun, Hercules and Carlisle. The Hankok's may be a good tire. Let us know.

I'm with you Tony! I've run Goodyear's for most of the years but have now switched to the Hercules tire and it is giving us everything we expected plus. We have about 10,000 on the tires now and they don't even look like they've been on the pavement. My tire guy recommended them when I came in to get Goodyear G614's and I'll go with him from this point on. Have not heard of anyone running the Hankook brand lately.

Look deeper, just looked at some of their "Special Trailer Tires" and per the specs they're made in China. I need 17.5 tires and didn't find any.

I have had Hankooks on my Montana for about a year now. They are doing fine.
Bought them in Tuscon after having a blowout on a Sailiun.

Not very much experience, but bought them last year and absolutely no wear and no problems so far. You'll notice they are heavy in actual weight and, maybe due to more stiffness and less flexibility, my MPG dropped about 5%. Like you, got them for the higher load rating and because Hankook is a South Korean HQ company with plants also in Europe and the U.S. and also, because my extensive Peoples Republic Of China business experience taught not to trust the business practices of that culture when it comes to life dependent products like tires or critical medical devices. One of my biggest fears is a hot weather blowout under a heavy trailer. Oh, they require 110 psi, so check your compressor capacity.

I just replaced mine on my 2018 3121rl with second set using Sailun after 6 years having 17,00 miles on original set. I had no flats or issues with original tires.

I replaced our Saliuns last spring with Hankooks for our 2018 3120RL last spring. We then drove to Alaska and back in September. No problems and very little wear. Happy we changed them out.

GT500K or GeoMar,
I have the same year and model 5th wheel. Can you tell me the specific tires you bought and where you got them? I need to get some new ones mounted before our National Park trip this summer.
Thx!
Michael
