Residential toilet

Has any one installed a residential toilet in your Montana? Would it help increase water volume to help on dumping black water.

All the extra water usage wouldn't be good for Boon Docking, plus you would be dumping the Black every couple of days. Typical res toilet probably uses 1 to 2 Gal per flush (just my rough guess) so it wouldn't take long to fill a 40 gal holding tank.

Plus, it's highly unlikely that there would be enough room in the small toilet areas to even fit a residential type toilet due to the tank taking up so much room.

And a residential toilet the drain is in the back and an RV toilet it’s at the front. But would it work, yes especially if you had the room and the plumbing was moved for a permanent residence. It would be great.

A free solution would be to just hold down on the pedal longer and put in as much water as you want per flush. Maybe I'm just not understanding the issue here.

A better solution would be to either put no toilet paper down the toilet or change the unit out to a composting toilet. Going the composting route would effectively allow you to use the black tank as another shower grey tank.

This subject has raised its head many times and my solution to the "no toilet paper down the toilet" was to install a Bidet. And ahhhh...... that will add more water to your tank at the same time!

But, if you don't want to do that, then why not just fill the bowl with water before you go, then go, then push the pedal and you've added water to the tank.

You can also backflush from your grey tank if you attach a Flush King or flush with your black tank rinser (if you have one).

Unless your camper is fixed stationary at a permanent or season site, the tank of a residential toilet will shake back and forth when traveling, probably break since they are made of porcelain, or at best, the seal between the tank and the bowl would leak because the tank wiggled back and forth while the trailer is in motion.

If you are parked permanently, then you won't have this problem. And yes, you can do it on a stationary site without any problems, provided you've got the plumbing down pat.

I would definitely not want to use that much water for each flush. It's not necessary & would fill the tank way too fast. Plus, you'd have to pray that your tank sensors always work perfectly, as you'd have no easy way to look down into the tank to see how full it is.

I would think you would be asking for trouble with all the water in the tank sloshing around as you go down the road. that would be one more thing to remember make sure you flush toilet after water turned off so the toilet tank would be empty.
