Boondockers Welcome app

Hi,

I was told about the app called Boon dockers welcome.
It cost $50 to join and I think it’s an extension from harvest House.
Has anyone used this app and actually stayed at Ho’s properties? I was looking for feedback as to whether it was worth buying this app!

Or is there anything similar out there other than harvest House we are at identifies Boondocking properties that you can stay on for a few days?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Regards,
Joanne

JoAnne, we belong to Harvest Hosts but not Boondockers Welcome. Harvest Host is businesses that allow you to stay at their business with the expectation that you will spend money on their products and or services. Typically they are wineries, breweries, museums, farms or (extra fee) golf courses. Most are dry camping only. Boondockers Welcome is private individuals that allow camping on their property. They also have an annual fee to use their app. We use a number of programs to find boondocking sites including Campendium, Boondocking and guides to NFS and BLM lands. Hope this helps a little.

Harvest Host has recently purchased Boondockers Welcome. Who knows what that will bring, hopefully something good!

We have had Boondockers Welcome for 4 years. Worth every penny. You get to meet some great people out there.

We left Washington in August and traveled across the US and then down to Biloxi. MS. We have stayed at many Harvest Host (HH) and Boondockers Welcome (BW) locations. Many had electrical hookups and water supply plus a couple had dumps on the property. In one BW now for 5 days @ $15 a day with 50A service and water 2 blocks from the beach. Later we move to another BW for 10 days @ $7 a day with 30A service, water and a dump on the property. We've stayed at farms, ranches, distilleries and once at a jail site that was empty but had 5 RV spots with 30A service and water plus a tour of a 100 yr old jail. We love the both and HH bought BW and merged all the sites onto an App that I use on my phone and laptop. Only one place in 43 stops would I not return to, primarily because of poor road conditions getting to it. In over 5000 miles and almost 4 months we have only stayed at campgrounds a few times. One place in Missouri permitted us to stay 15 days while we visited our daughter & family. Charged us $10 a day with 50A service and water hookup. The plus side you meet many phenominal people with great stories.

We boondock around Biloxi and never seen a site 2 blocks from the beach. Little information would be nice. Thank you.

I doubt you'll get your 5vr in his parking space, I barely made it with mine.

Thanks

Gets better too. Stopped at a HH place outside Port Lavaca, TX. Spending a couple days here and then moving to the beach and dry camp for a week. Beautiful beach, very few RV's taking advantage of the free 14 days camping. Temps daytime 68-78 and nights 45-55. The beach has free rest rooms and showers with garbage collection too. Best Mexican food I ever ate at a place in town.

Are you talking about Magnolia Beach? If so I have been there a few times and didn't know they had free showers and bathrooms.

You are correct, facilities are at east end of beach. Will be here a week and enjoying the peacefulness and beauty of the beach presently. Starlink RV works well, run generator 4 hours per day and all is good to go.

We belong to Harvest Hosts and Boondockers welcome. We have stayed at both. We love the wineries and breweries that Harvest Hosts has, and if you HOST in Boondockers welcome, you get your membership for free. We have 3 acres with an electric hook-up. We have not had anyone stay yet, but we only joined this Summer. They are both worth their weight in gold!
