We had our unit for 17 years. The only trailer tires ever on it were when the unit was new. Like twindman all replacement tires were LT. Worked good for us.

I think you have forgotten to mention to us that the trailer manufacturer for your 2006 trailer provided LT tires as original equipment. (Probably Uniroyal of Mission, a China tire).

According to the specs I found for your trailer, it came with original equipment ST tires.
The only possible/acceptable replacement LT tires would be the GY G614, a bastardized all steel trailer tire with an LT designation. However, it has a different size designation and requires 110 PSI to provide its maximum load capacity of 3750#. It would take approx 100 PSI to meet the load capacity of your OE tires.

I didn't forget to mention it as that is not how I remember it. Thought they were ST tires. The trailer is gone so there is no way to check but the replacement LT tires did serve me well for many years.

That is correct; that era Montana came with Tacoma (Cooper made in the USA as I recall) LT tires.

Best Tires are Michelin XPS Ribs or Bridgestone Duravis
If you travel frequently and for long distances the heaviest (most durable) and Expensive tires are mentioned in the subject line. Have served me well on many 1000 mile or more journeys.

My 2006 came with the dreaded Mission tires, don't remember if LT's or ST's. One went bad, slipped belt, no damage. With help from this forum I got a little monetary assistance from the manufacture on a replacement set. That's when I switched to BF Goodrich LT's.
