Front interior outlets

Our front three outlets in our Montana fifth wheel 3810 MS have stopped working (the other ones in the fifth. We are fine)we've checked all the GFI's that we were able to see and they're fine but we're not sure if we're missing one. Does anyone know where the GFI's are in this model? Is there a way to get a diagram of this model to see where they are located?

Not familiar with you particular model, but ours has a GFCI outlet in the passthrough compartment near the door side. You might want to look there. I could see that causing issues with the front most outlets.

GFCI outlets are typically those located near a water source such as kitchen sink, bathroom vanity, etc. I would not expect those at the front of the trailer to be on a GFCI protected circuit.

A couple of things to try as a start. If you are comfortable using a voltmeter on live circuits. Check to see that you have 120 vac on each circuit breaker, even though you have previously reset all of them and they appear to be ok. A bad breaker is not likely but possible.

If you do have 120 vac on all of the breakers, then try a non contact voltage detector at each of those outlets. It is possible you have voltage to them, but no neutral.

Having 120 vac at the breaker, but no voltage at the outlet indicates a loose hot connection between the breaker and the first outlet in the string.

Having hot at the outlets but the outlets not working would indicate a loose neutral wire connection between the neutral bus bar and the first outlet in the string.

It is going to be a process of elimination of the possibilities.

Or use an outlet tester for even quicker test.

Outlets Not Working

If this happened after being on the road, you may want to check the wiring crimps to see if a wire has come loose. I found all my forward outlets were wired in series so if one wire comes loose all the outlets stop working.

Not same model and not a 5’er but still a keystone ….our Cougar has a second GFI that protects the inverted front half (and outside) receptacles which is located in the front plug closest to the inverter in the front bedroom. Looked all over for it once as it was hidden behind my wife’s phone cord. Good luck!

Anything else not working? I have seen loose connections on 1 leg of the 50 amp power cord have similar effects.

A 3 light plug-in tester is where you should start. The 3 light tester will identify if the issue is in the hot leg (black wire) or neutral (white wire). Losing a neutral connection will mimic a loss of 120 volts.
