Doug Chase from Idaho with 2021 Montana model 3120.

We have a King tailgater for dish. Hooked it to the satellite input on the KeyTV in convenience center. No signal.

Disconnected the cable from KeyTV that goes to the living room TV and Hooked directly to the satellite dish. Satellite TV worked great, HOWEVER, over the air and cable TV not working. Couldn’t get any cable channels unless the cable from the living room tv was hooked to the KeyTV box, which then eliminates the satellite TV reception.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Doug Chase

Doug,

Run a separate cable to your Dish receiver and keep the KeyTV hooked up also.

Fundamentally Key TV doesn't work with a non-Hopper (if even then) Dish system. Install an RF cable connector through the wall be the TV (or through a window) dedicated to the sat input.

I contacted Winegard with the dilemma. Got this back from them.

THANK YOU FOR CONTACTING US!

Hello Rick,

Thank you for reaching out, please contact Keystone, see if they have any recommendations on how to utilize the KEYTV.
Unfortunately our only recommendation would be to by-pass the KEYTV.

Thank you,

So with this info and previous info from Dish and Keystone, there is a rotten egg in this mess. Maybe all three.
As above the post I ran a complete new RG6 Quad line from the convenience center through the belly into the back wall. So as of now every thing works normal except for the extra cable.
Hope this helps anybody else with this issue.
Thanks for all the help.
Thanks Rick

I have been using a King Quest portable with the H2400 HD receiver for 8 years. I run the coax thru the dedicated SAT port outside in the water center access door and have zero issues getting the SAT to lock onto the 101 bird...

All that said I will upgrade the King Quest nest year just because we are tired of watching TV in SD broadcast and DTV has been saying for the last five years that SD broadcast are going away... someday...

My typical coax used is RG6 at 50 feet long so I have the cable to get the SAT dish in a good spot if trees are in the way.. I boon dock a lot..

When I purchased our 2021 Montana 3121 I had the Trav' ler HD Dish mounted on the roof. The dealer told me that they have had so much trouble with the Key TV system that they always bypass the system when they install a satellite system. The satellite has worked flawlessly since it was installed.

I went to the Montana Rally this year. Talk to the people that put the KEY TV in. What I got out it was it dont work like it should. The new campers next year will have a better system. I told him I had a 2016 Montana that had 3 places to hook in to. 1 for living room satellite, 1 for bedroom satellite and one for cable. Why didn't you just leave it alone because it worked gust fine. I have a new 2121 and I'm sure there was a cost for that KEY TV
