A Trillion Dollars

With the buffoons in Washington tossing around the term "trillion dollars" I wondered how much that is in numbers I can understand...here it is:

One Trillion Dollars:

- one million million.

- one thousand billion.

- a 1 followed by 12 zeros, or,

- 1,000,000,000,000.

Tom I agree, but I have to be careful in what I say. It doesn't look as though anyone is listening.... GBY......

Remember when Sen Everette Dirkson of Illinois used to say,"a million here and a million there and pretty soon you're talking about real money"?

To put things in another perspective, I was bored and used Google Answers (I was shocked at the results)

A million in $100 dollar bills is a stack 48.82 inches, say 4 feet in round figures high.
A billion .................................................. 4,000 feet = 2.27 miles high
A Trillion.......................................... ........4,000,000 feet= 2,272.72 miles high.

"A billion .................................................. 4,000 feet = 2.27 miles high"

I thought a mile was 5,280 feet. So 4,000 feet would not even be a mile. Did I miss something?

But no matter how you stack it that is a lot of $$$$$$!

Oops! My math was out, you're right. I divided by 1760, yards, not feet.
