Branson
After avoiding Branson for a number of years, I've been told we are going to Branson...no more putting it off. At least the kids will still be in school. Anyway, I've also been told we need a CG on a lake.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Table Rock Lake State Park. On the lake, full HU and close to strip.

Try Old 86 Highway campground on the south end of the lake. Easy drive into Branson. The COE park was rebuilt within the last 3 years thanks to a flood. They did an incredible job on the park.

If you want to stay away from all of the hoop-la, I recommend you try out Taneycomo Resort (Campground). Why do I know about this place? It was built on the property my grandparents owned back in the 60's. We have stayed there three times, once with an SOB, and twice with the Monty. It's not very far out of Branson and located on Lake Taneycomo. Rates are $25 per night. The owners are fantastic folks and the fishing is great! Takes about 10 minutes to drive into Branson. Here is a link to the website: http://taneycomoresort.com/

We stayed at the state park about 8 miles southwest of town. I think it was $22/night for 50 amp full hookups and the lake was within easy walking distance.

I live in Branson and trust me: Table Rock Lake State Park. Three different roads leading to different sections of the Branson strip. Enjoy your stay.

If you like COE parks, our favorite is Mill Creek. 50A/W and with the old age card about $10.50 a nite. It is about 2 miles south of Kimberling City. Next is Old 86 which was mentioned earlier. Not our favorite, but is a nice COE.
We like the COE parks, about 1/2 the price of the State parks.
If going to either, you must make reservations on http://www.recreation.gov/ both stay very booked.
