Back splash for 3400RL
Is there an aftermarket back splash for the kitchen sink in the '07 3400RL? In the alternative has someone devised one for this sink?

Check with a local countertop fabricator shop. You can probably get something in Corian or other similar material that will match your countertops, there are a lot of colors to choose from.

We put one of those spray nozzles on the faucet which defuses it a bit. Keep whatever you are rinsing low in the sink. If I could find some matching counter top I would make a back splash panel..It is on our list when at the service center in April for other repairs.

OK, What am I missing? This is the island sink? Are you looking at some free standing type back splash or ? We have been looking at the 3400 (next 24 months) so I am interested in everyones upgrades and ideas.

I guess I was thinking about our 3075 with a wall behind the sink, forgot the 3400 had a island sink. A free standing back splash could be installed if that is what is needed. Two pieces of Corian could be laminated together which would create a splash with finished surfaces on both sides.

It is not a huge issue. It is one of those things you have to adapt to in a RV. In our 3400 the faucet nozzle is about 7 inches above the counter top and if you tend to hold a object near the nozzle it will of course splatter over the counter top and down the front of the cabinets. When rinsing hold the object low or below the sink bowl. A spray nozzle helps. In order to eliminate all the splash over.. a back splash panel would have to be at least 7 inches high maybe more (unsightly) or replace the entire faucet with one that is below the bowl level which causes another set of issues...Or..adapt.. Rv,ing is all about adapting to conditions.

Even though we are in a 3280, we have the island sink also. I put a different faucet in the sink, very easy to do. This faucet has a spray nozzel like richfaas and this has illiminated the need for a splash guard. Besides looking better, it is very useful having the spray! Something Keystone could look at too!

For under $5 I bought a really nice looking spray attachment that screws onto the existing faucet. This helps but Rich is correct also about keeping stuff low in the sink. I like the high faucet because you can fill tall things up. If we are doing a lot of stuff in the sink, I roll up a towel and lay behind the faucets. This keeps the water from running down the cabinets and can be removed when finished.
Happy trails....................

Our 3280 had the faucet replaced with the all in one removable spray nozzle type and it works great. Still need to be a little careful where you point it or someone on the couch can get wet! Barb says her solution is to eat out! Or I get to do all the dishes. I kinda like her first idea better.
