time is not on our side

What happens when you think you know more than the sign telling you to slow down.

I'm always amazed at how those tow recovery guys figure out how to get stuff back up.

Dang, and it's a Monty, too. Towed with a Dually. Must have really miscalculated badly.

I didn't watch the whole video. Just hope nobody got hurt

It was a 20 mph marked curve. I doubt anyone got hurt. I saw who I think were the owners standing by watching. And BTW, I love that quote from Dirty Harry!

I went back and watched it. Pretty impressive crew. It is heartbreaking, though, to see how easily a beauty like that becomes garbage and to think what it must have been like for the owners. Just sad...

Nice job by tow crews!

A little wire and wax, it should be good as new.

The towing/wrecker crews did an excellent job to keep the Monte from splitting in half when the flipped it back on it's wheels. It could have been a whole lot worse. Totaled out but still in a lot better shape than it could have been. This just shows us all what even a slow speed can do when towing our Monte's. I hope all of us have learned a lesson from this video and we all tow a little bit safer. Our thoughts go out to the couple that were towing and we hope all goes well with them in recovering from this incident.

Most people don't realize how top heavy these rigs are or at least how much weight is high-up. Dually may have contributed to a feeling of being more stable than they were.

Note to self … Slow down in those tight curves. You're not driving a Grand Prix racecar.

If that truck frame is bent along with the body damage it may be totaled as well.

Yes I was happy to see the truck didn't end up on its side. so no injuries except pride.
I did note that what used to be their possessions were now being referred to as debris.

This and the Ford dually towing a toy hauler running up the backside of the semi tractor on I35 had my wife and I talking about disk brakes.

Yes, I know disk brakes most likely would not have helped here, but just how to improve our safety.

We have done a LOT of road miles since 2006. We see a lot of disasters waiting to happen. Excess speed is the worst offender. Some forums say Rv'ers are the best drivers. We think they are among the worst.

What group would make the best drivers?

I disagree. I see few RV idiots and the majority of those are transporting to dealers.

There are IDIOTS in all groups of drivers. It's just bad when the idiots aren't trying to learn

Often a large RV is purchased by a person of retirement age (when reflexes and vision are somewhat diminished) with no previous towing experience. Yet many states will allow you to drive one with no training or special license. In Oklahoma anyway you can't ride a motorcycle without taking a driving test on one, but a large RV is not given a second thought. This needs to change!
