We have a good friend who has just been diagnosed with stage four cancer. Ron Marlin was up in Alaska with his wife Rhonda just a few weeks ago hiking, biking and having an all around good time when they found out Ron was not well. They have flown back to Arkansas and Ron is in St. Vincents in Hot Springs going through chemo. The Marlin's have been to many rallys and done many jobs to make them a success. Our prayers and hopefully yours go out to Ron and Rhonda for a miracle that will see Ron get better. I know they will not make this years rally but I hope and pray that they can make next years. Ron and Rhonda have been members of the parking team for as long as I can remember. Rhonda along with Carrie were always signers and Ron was a master escort. The team this year will be less without them.

All my wands are packed
I'm ready to go
I'm standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say get in the truck
But the dawn is breakin
It's early morn
The Montys waitin
I'm blowin my horn
Already I'm so anxious
I need to drive
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll camp with me
Guide me like you'll never get me lost
Cause I'm leaving for a MOC rally
Don't know if it will rain or not
Oh babe, I hope I packed a vest
So to all the volunteers and their support staff. Drive safe and remember to bring cookies.

Say hey, Ray-T. I think we may start a new off season league. Thanks for helping out. When are you coming in?

We're still adding to the guild. That's good. For those arriving on the fifth (you know who you are) and for those that are in the local area, we are going to have a get together on Tuesday night at about sevenish. We'll try to work out the golf carts and maybe some of the parking issues. Look for a gathering somewhere in the middle of the 400 loop. Remember, the "Parking Team" is a very flexible organization. In fact it's more of a jumble than an organization. We only work when we can. No time cards, no swipe ID cards, and not too many rules. Actually they're more like guidelines. If the team wasn't so dog gone good looking we would be indistinguishable from the general population. So drive safe and see you all in a few weeks.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it does. Jeff and Anna Fryer have offered to host the Tuesday night "Parking Team" pre-brief with a chili dinner. All you need to bring is a chair and a beverage. Spouses optional. I mean spouses optimally welcome. (darn auto spell) We have moved the time of the meeting up to six PM to allow the taste buds to cool before business. Jeff has assured me that his chili is not searing but he will have the add ons if you want to feel the burn. Those in and outside the park are welcome. We don't have site numbers yet so I will let everyone know when they become available. It would help if you could give me a heads up if you are planning to attend the aforementioned chili thingy. That's it for now. Stay real and practice safe parking.

My plan is to be at the meeting if I am not there for the chili. Traveling from southern VA so we shall see.

That may be the 64,000 $ question. Lots of variables at play here. If it is like past rallies the carts will be left at the fairgrounds from the previous rally. Last year they were not washed, fueled or cleaned for our arrival. We also couldn't find anyone that worked for the rental company. This year I'm hoping we have better luck. It would sure help everyone if we could get the carts Tuesday. That said, if we get the carts I don't see any problem for you. Of course I'm not in charge of carts and the only weight I can throw around is what's in my shoes. Fingers crossed.

Unfortunately for Contract and Logistical reasons we are not able to distribute Golf Carts before Wednesday, but the Golf Cart team plans to have carts available for the Parking Team as soon as possible on Wednesday morning.

It's nine o'clock on a Wednesday
The regular rigs shuffle in
There's an old man sitting next me
Reading maps to get people in
He says "son can you give me the next one"
I know I can get to their site
I've done it before and I'll do it again
Before we run out of daylight
La, la-la, di-dee-da
La-la di-dee-do do-dum
Give us a rig we're the "Parking Team"
Give us a rig today
Well we're all in the mood for a MOC Rally
And we'll be parking all day
Now Richard is the wagon master
He gave me this job with glee
He's quick with the paint and and a word for the feint
But he won't let me camp here for free
He says "Bill I believe you're killing me"
The Monty's are backed up in the lot
I'm sure we could get this thing started
If only you'd give up on this plot
La, la-la, di-dee-da
La-la di-dee-do do-dum
Ron was a "Parking Team" member
He liked to drive his cart fast
Well he wore suspenders and smiled at venders
And we'll always have him in our past
Rhonda would work well with Carrie
They signed people in on the lot
I hope she knows that we loved them
And we're going to miss them alot
Give us a rig we're the "Parking Team"
Give us a rig today
Well we're all in the mood for a MOC Rally
And we'll be parking all day
I could go on but I won't. Lucky you.

Looks like I'll be making Chili like its a shrimp boil, break out the big pot. LOL. I love it. Entertaining is my thing....not like entertaining as in Woody entertaining. I do not have the gift of music but I've been told I can cook....Can't wait to see you all.

Thanks Ed, something with mag wheels and tuck and roll seats would be great. Maybe a flame paint job.
