Broken water tank bulkhead fitting

The nib from the water tank bulkhead fitting to which the drain tube is clamped is broken and tank water leaks down around outside of drain hose. Seems that I need to replace that fitting on the tank, so can attach drain tube, but can't figure how to remove that fitting into the tank. The 3/4 " nut can't turn because two bumps in plastic keep it in place. Does anyone know how to remove and replace this bulkhead fitting or even where to find a replacement fitting?

Thank you for your interest.

No picture, but I'll describe the outcome. We couldn't remove the broken, plastic, bulkhead fitting because the two plastic nibs, part of the plastic water tank, would not allow any turn and screw out of the fitting using a 13/16" open end or socket wrench. Ultimately, we carefully, but nervously sliced off the the nibs with a razor blade. Then the fitting was easily unscrewed and replaced with the same ½ NPS male/barbed male plastic fitting from Lowes using both teflon tape and pipe joint compound to which we crimped a short PEX tube finished with a plastic ball valve. No more nibs to keep the fitting from unscrewing itself, but we do expect that was over-engineering and that the fitting will stay in place. One day latter and no more leaking water.

The fittings on the fresh water tanks that I've dealt with are "spun welded" to the plastic tank wall itself. No easy fix. Here's a site that explains them. RecPro carries some of the spin weld fittings.

Fascinating. Yes, the outer part of the fitting looked like the spin welded examples in the link. We left it intact and only replaced the center threaded part. I might guess that the spin welding added great strength to the area of the tank, the lowest point, supporting the drain. Thanks for this info.
