Baggage Door Hinge Resolved
Thanks to everyone for your help. I found that the hinge I needed (and installed) could be sourced from its manufacturer, Forest River. They make these hinges and sell to other manufacturers. Since - as is typical of RV manufacturers - baggage door (and propane closet doors) sizes are all over the map, these hinges are sold in lengths of nearly seven feet and must be cut to size. To remove the old hinge, you will need to drill-out the pop rivets which is the most time consuming part of the task. Also, to prevent the kind of damage I encountered on my two large and very heavy doors, installing gas struts (two to each door) will go a long way in preventing hinge damage. And, finally, for what it’s worth, if you notice the black paint being somehow scraped off of one side or the other of your hinges, it is probably early stage hinge deformation.
