For a rough number, inside the door of the truck is a cargo capacity number associated with the tires - it's typically a rough calculation of gross weight minus expected truck weight. You have to subract you, passengers, fuel, and expected cargo to get the pin allowance, so to speak. My 2006 F350 CC SRW SB 4X4 is 3,750 on the sticker with a 7,000 lb rear axle.
The accurate way to find out is to actually weigh your truck, subract that weight from the published GVWR and subtract you, passengers, and cargo to get the available remaing cargo for the pin. I weighed mine and the end calculation was within 100 lbs of just using the cargo capacity number on the door sticker.
Hope that helps.
