GE Residential Refrigerator (pink ice)

We are not full-time RVers so just here and there when we travel but I noticed on this travel weekend that our GE Residential Refrigerator in our MHC 2022 331RL the ice is coming out pink. (I now that means there is a bacterial problem in the lines). Anyone know how this can be cleaned out?

I really feel Keystone should have thought better on having outside access to the backs of these Residential refrigerators. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Any chance it could be pink RV Anti freeze?
In other words it needs to be de winterized?
Either way you still need to sanitize your freshwater system including your icemaker.

Sounds like antifreeze to me. With the small 1/8” tubing it takes a while to get the antifreeze out of the system.

This is the first we have seen it and have used the ice maker several times prior and there was not pink ice. We haven’t winterized the RV since we live in Florida. We have only once used the Water Tank as we are always hooked to parks water. Is there information some place on de-sanitizing the tank and fresh water system? Sorry still newbies!

Lines may not have been fully winterized all the way to the ice maker. If so, then the pink antifreeze trapped in the line is just now making it to the ice maker. Unless your "pick ice cubes" stink to high heavens, I too highly suspect antifreeze is your culprit. In either case I too suggest sanitizing your fresh water system.

Thank you. Last question advice on how to sanitize the fresh water system. You all have been incredibly helpful.

Don't forget to sanitize and flush your washer pipes too, especially if you don't have a washer. The water in those pipes will go stale and contaminate the rest of your system. Once you sanitize them, flush them regularly.
