Furrion FGH4ZSA-SS cooktop

I have what they call a waterproof ring which is rubber that is located under the knobs on the cooktop. I had one fail and removed it. I am trying to install a new one, and it is turning out to be very difficult. Has anyone had to change one of these? If so any secrets on how to accomplish this?
It is item 22 in the parts book. See pictures in attached files.

That looks like a standard knob, just orient it so that the slot is opposite the blade and push it on.

Was very frustrating, I finally got a little of the back side in and worked around the remainder with a wooden spoon (a little pointed so it only pushed in a little at a time) holding in the first section in the back.

I've had a little experience with things similar to your rubber ring. Fighting them is frustrating, I agree.

Rather than trying to fix it from the top side down, try inserting the rubber from the under side of the hole and pull it through to the top. That upper part will pass around the metal hole and then the rubber slot will fix around the metal.

Also, squirt the rubber with dish washing liquid and get it REAL slippery. Then use a pair of pliers (so YOU can grip it). Gently pull it UP through the hole. After it's inserted, rinse the dishwashing liquid off.

Good luck.
