Electrical Water Heater

Montana 2022 3121
Dual Water Heater
Living in unit since April. Electric portion of water heater just stopped heating! Gas portion lights without issue.
Any ideas or suggestion would be appreciated?

Possibly a burned up heating element. Disconnect the wires and test it with a volt meter.

In home water heaters, if they are not cleaned out periodically, lime builds up in the bottom of the tank. After years of use, the lime forms into a block of rock. As it grows bigger and bigger it eventually gets tall enough it touches the lower heating element. When that happens, the heating element burns out.

If you haven't flushed your tank in a while, it's possible it has build up and that could have shorted out the heating element. I'm just guessing, but it's a staring point. Checking it cost nothing if you have any kind of meter that will detect continuity.

There us a switch on the outside and two reset buttons under black rubber covers.
Cycle the switch and push the reset buttons.
If not working after that you will need a multimeter and download the Suburban water heater manual from the files section. Follow the wiring diagram and check voltage with your multimeter.

I have 3120rl (2021) and have had 2 problems at different times with the water heater. The 1st one was the high limit switch on the 110 v side was bad. Could see the wire was burnt. Ordered the replacement from Amazon. Changed out and all was good. 2nd problem was wire from high limit switch to heating element had shorted out due to rubbing against sharp metal by high limit switch. Replaced and all was back to hot water
Hope this helps!

Problems previously reported:
Bad heating element
Bad little black switch on water heater (if Suburban)
Bad or tripped thermostat/hi temp cutout
Tripped circuit breaker
Bad relay (if Suburban)
Burned or bad wire connections

You really need to troubleshoot using a voltmeter to quickly isolate the problem.
