Look at a B&W Companion hitch. I have a 25K model on my F350 Dually and never had issues with it.

Tony, I'm not saying I object to your opinion as we all have one very much so including me. What I couldn't keep it zipped about was the canned over used "shock and awe" photo of a failure that is always followed by knee-jerk OMG statements about the hitch being puny. I get it about steel and aluminum, but alloys have improved over time. If you do much flying what you're riding in is near all aluminum unless it's a Boeing 787 or some Airbus models, then its composite.

Lynne, It looks like your question about the ice maker has been ignored, so I thought I would throw this in.
Here's what I ended up doing in our rig. Filtering never seemed adequate. We never drink CG water and usually just purchase bottled water for ourselves and the dogs.

Same here. Mines just not a dually. Trailer Built and designed as a fifth wheel hitch so that’s what I will use.

Compare the picture of the Anderson hitch with this pullrite (which I have). No comparison to strength, etc.

Take a look at this semi tractor and compare it with your pickup. They will both safely pull a fifth wheel. Just how much do you need?

I’ll bet he is using 6061 aluminum. It’s the go to material for applications like this. It could be one of the 5 series aluminums but I’ll bet a buck it’s 6061 but it doesn’t really matter. Either one softens when heated. And no neither one has changed in over 50 years. At least as long as I have been using them. The manufacturers can’t change it or it wouldn’t be 6061. It would haft to be designated as another alloy.
If you wont to see how much strength you need look at the picture in post 7 of this thread. That is all I need to know.

Congratulations on your purchase.
Welcome.
About the water filter...
You can do a search on. WATER FILTERS.
and find many threads. From complicated installs to simple frames Holding the filters on the ground.
Water filter thread with pictures

If you want simple use a "whole house" filter system. Put a Camco inline water filter on your hose between the spicket and your pressure regulator. Then a whole house filter before it goes in the rig setup on the ground.
Camco RV Water Filter Stand - Keeps Water Filters Upright and Off the Ground (40772) https://a.co/d/0p0b1rk
I got one of these so I can see the filters and keep an eye on them. I mounted it inside the basement.

HI Lynneb, i really like the goose box system I have the same truck shortbed i am guessing that it is coming with factory goose prep package and goose box works great with the new Montanas. it will be a few dollars more that the above hitches i think my was installed for $1900-2000 or so. but is save your bed space and no frame warranty issue plus the air ride tows rally nice. just another option to look at.

Our 2021 year model has the GE residential fridge. If yours does also, and you are only concerned with filtering the water dispenser and the ice maker, the fridge uses a XWFE filter. Not sure if you are aware of that. You can look up the specs and decide if you want a better filtration system.
Congrats on the new rig!

No I did not know that. So do you think if I put the camco filter on the hose would you drink the water out of the fridge and use the ice?
Thank you

Hi Ep4me, I’m sorry, I got lost. What goose box system are you talking about? Thank you, Lynne

We do. I buy the tastePURE filters for the hose from Walmart and the xwfe filters from wherever they are the cheapest. I bought the last one from Lowes.

I have a sediment filter, then water softener, then a carbon filter and finally the fridge filter. So water and ice is about as clean as you can get, probably better than some bottled water.

I had the Andersen for 3 years, didn`t fold up on me, can`t imagine why. Most people that bad mouth the Andersen just can`t stand the fact that the boat anchor they bought is such a hassle in many ways and use a photo of one that was in an accident to try and get their point across. I've personally have seen many trucks with caved in beds from dropping the trailer on it far far more than the single photo of a broken Andersen. The best was down in Myrtle Beach, a brand-new dodge dually still with the new trucks tags still on it had a mashed bed from dropping the trailer on it made himself look good in front of the wife didn`t it. I look in the bed as I walk by, it was a Curt. If it was a panic situation it would have folded to the front don`t you think? instead of the trailer pulling it to the rear as shown from an accident.
If you have a short bed you need a slider like the PullRight Slider. Wonder why no one suggested that to you instead of trying to promote their idea of the perfect hitch.
I currently use the Reese goose box, now that`s the perfect hitch.

Lets keep the blood pressures in check. Everyone here is entitled to their opinion. It's not personal.

But it needs to be factual don't you think?
