Help filling fresh water tank
I just hooked up my RV (2007 Mountaineer 342pht) for the first time ever, and I am trying to fill the freshwater tanks, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have the hose hooked up and my pressure regulator is at 40 PSI, and I turned on the pump switch that's on the panel in the kitchen (the one where you can check tank and battery levels *see attached picture*), but even after running it for hours, it seems like the tank is still empty. Is there something I'm missing, or a different pump switch for filling the tank by chance?

Don't you have a gravity fill port on the outside of your trailer? I'm not sure you can fill the fresh tank on the older trailers through the inside plumbing.

This is the freshwater vent on newer models. You can remover this cover by pushing up from the bottom on this cover. The vent is behind the cover. You can remover the screen filter and try filling your tank from here.
Newer models have fill valves I. The convenience center for filling the freshwater tank via the city water connection.

Yea I do have a gravity fill area too...I guess that's what I'm supposed to use? This is what my water panel hook up looks like:
So I assumed I just hooked the hose to that, but I'll try using the gravity fill port to the left and see if that works.

Ditto what rohrmann says. My 2006 water center is exactly like yours. Can't fill the tank from the city water port. Move your hose to the left a couple of inches. When water starts coming out that little black vent your tank is full.

Pressurized water fill
I have the same situation with my 2015 RL 3100. No gravity fill port and only the vent in the rear wall. I made a pressurized water filler for when we dry camp from a 12v rv water pump. I fill the water tank thru the city water port using the my pressurized water filler. Also had to run a fused 12v plug from the batteries to my utility cabinet to power it. Here is a picture of what I use.

My 2007 has a fill valve in the convince center.
If none then gravity fill is the only way..
Note.. having pump switch on does not have effect
On servicing the water tank

Be sure you are using a pressure regulator when you are directly connected to a city water source.

I had an older Keystone Sprinter with the same water hookup ports as yours. As Jimcol said put you hose in the capped port to the left and when it over flows it is full. You can then Turn on the pump and it should operate on demand when you turn on your faucet. I have occasionally had my pump trap air and not pump, in that case I had to prime it by hooking a short piece of hose to the in side port of the pump and fill it with water. And then re-hook up the “in hose” and try the pump again. No such problems with the newer models.
