Substandard Quality Linoleum?

When I first looked at this unit, there was a rug at the entry - that should have rang an alarm bell. When I showed up to pick it up, they said, by the way, we've put in a warranty repair of the linoleum, the rub was moved and there was a big ugly yellow spot right in the entry. In too big of a hurry, we agreed to take it.
Although the spot by the door was the worst, every traffic path is discolored, the gray flooring is turning yellow.
Warranty only "repaired" the yellow spots - used the quotes because the patch job is about as bad as the yellow spot, except that the patch job is gray strips among the yellowed linoleum.

When the dealer queried Greg at Keystone, they said Greg told them that my Montana had floated around the system for almost a year and I should expect discoloration from all the people walking in it so they weren't going to do anything more. They should have advised me earlier that they were going to treat it as a used RV.

None of the repair people who looked at it could find any cause for the rapid yellowing and advise that they thought it was the linoleum manufacture's ingredients.

Does anyone else out there have linoleum color issues?

Wow OldJimi - this is a 2022 model? No - we've not seen that issue with ours. Sorry you are having this issue. Now I'll be looking at our flooring with a critical eye every time I walk inside.

I would not have thought it was something to watch out for. Really disappointed that keystone doesn't care. So many problems with this one - must have been made during the Covid shut downs.
I don't think I mentioned, the top picks are before, the bottom two are after repairs.

I have the same yellowing on the floor my unit is a 2022
So it sounds like we’re are not addressing the problem.
And still installing this faulty product. Do we have any recourse or is Montana telling us to bad??

That's kind of a yucky feeling knowing that bunches of people walked through the camper. Kind of like ... well ... you know ... it's not a virgin any more?

I've never seen that discoloration before this post. I have the same floor. My Montana was manufactured in August 2018. It still looks good, except where I pulled nails and staples when I removed the carpet from the main slide out.

Mine is a 22 as well, saw a sale ad for one of the same year and recognized the same yellowing floor linoleum. Keystone must've got a deal on that batch of flooring.
Magic Eraser will get rid of it, just be sure you have a plentiful supply of elbow grease ready.
Stop the presses!!!
The boss says the yellow in the section that was replaced and in the section that she magically erased are yellowing. So the only lasting solution is to change the name of the color Antique Ivory Gray.

no 3rd a/c heat pump

You aren`t going to win this argument. I know it`s wrong but to lower the stress level and get to use your new camper and not have it sit at the dealer for months you should just contact a flooring company and have them replace the floor. A couple of thousand at best. for the whole camper. Better flooring, a real guaranty/warranty, no stress. Tell the dealer to stick it cause they just lost a customer keystone too while your at it. There will be other things that go wrong for no apparent reason so you better get used to it.
Still haven`t figured out how walking on the floor would turn it yellow. I have an `18 used it all the time.....no yellowing. Are you getting the drift with keystone?

What makes me think getting walked on is a factor is that the yellow is in the center but not so much in the edges or under the slide material. I know longer think it's from asphalt oils or debris being tracked in, I think it's the oils used to keep the linoleum pliable coming to the surface as it is subjected to pressure. I have a piece of the linoleum that was cut out, maybe i'll lay it out and start pounding a corner with a rubber mallet.
When the issue was discussed with Keystone, their response was that the floor wasn't really new, since they shipped it to Oklahoma 9 months earlier. Camping World may have moved it around a bit to RV shows before it landed down in South Florida. Who knows.

By chance???? is there a heat duct that runs directly under that section of floor? Running the furnace (heat) might have caused the discoloration too. The heat caused a chemical reaction in the linoleum. It's just a thought the more I look at that photo.

I had not thought of that, but areas above the ducts and around the vents don't show any noticeable deviation in color. I think it was Covid Year manufacturing, I would be suspicious of anything that came out of factories in 2021.

A lot of times when linoleum yellows it’s the glue that holds it down that is the problem. I don’t know that is the problem here or it could just be the buyer did his job and saved some money. Naw that couldn’t be it.

Maybe the window shades were up while it was sitting on a dealer lot and the sunlight coming through may have yellowed the floor? Just a thought.

Sunlight seems like it could be a culprit, UV discolors and degrades everiything. Don't know, but it really doesn't impact functionality, the floor still holds me up a couple feet above ground level.
