Installing 3000 W inverter –fuze signs – wire size

I am thinking about adding an 3000 W inverter to my RV. What size fuse should I put in the 12 Volt line from the battery to the inverter? Do you have a recommended brand name? I have also read that some inverters come with cables that are undersized. What size would you recommend?

What model/year rig do you have?
The inverter should be as close to the battery as possible. Here is a schematic. You can see the battery cable is 1 or 2 gauge and the fuse is a 250 amp.

The math...
3000w, ÷ 12vdc = 250A

I would go with at least 2/0 awg welders wire with a 275A fuse between the inverter and the battery.

I went with 1/0 on mine. I bought all my cable for my solar install from Windy Nation. They are my absolute go to.
