We've travelled that route MANY times, pulling our 2013 3402RL going both directions. Road courtesy should take front seat as MANY cars and faster trucks will be constantly coming from behind and the road is for the most part a two lane road, a bit hilly/"dippy" in some areas and your MAX speed limit is 55MPH posted. CHP does patrol the area FYI.
But the road surface is good, very good in most of the route. Your only real environment concern this time of year out there will be cross winds...just slow it down should that issue come up...relax and enjoy the desert scenery!

My wife towed the Montana to Las Vegas on this route by herself when I was not available. The road is fine.

It's fine but it makes one of our dogs sick every time.

Don't pull off the road
Be careful if you have to pull off to the side as the sand will be deep and suck you in. In my car I bottomed once out on those rolling dips.

We’ve taken this road while wanting a change of scenery and while the road is okay, the dips do get old.
I’m not sure why the picture posts sideways. Sorry about that.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay the Oasis RV Resort is nice, south end of LVBlvd.
If you want low cost with nice views, the Clark County Shooting park has 60 full hook-ups at $30. Located at the north of Vegas at the base of Sheep Mtn. Away from the chaos of the Strip. Shopping and local casino nearby. I use it to prep or clean before and after my trips.
