I would think an additional brake controller might have to be used for the flatbed trailer.

A lot of those trailers have surge brakes like boat trailers do. No need for a brake controller if that is the situation. Good info though.

My truck Montana are 52 now. Once I put the sxs behind it I will be 72 which from what I have read is legal in Colorado and Utah. I will be interesting for sure

I'll be sure to keep a safe distance when behind someone towing double. You are really pushing the limit of your package for weight and control.

We will try it once and see how it does. If I don't like how it pulls then I guess we will change tactics. If I don't feel safe pulling it, then I won't do it. I have seen some sketchy things on the highway and I don't want to be that guy. I don't care when we get to our destination as long as we there.

How it 'pulls' is not really the issue. Any diesel can 'pull' any Montana. The issue is ability to stop and overall stability and the ability to control the weight with a truck that is most likely over it's GVWR to start.

You're beating him up over sentence structure? "How it pulls" to me means: how it pulls, how it stops and how it turns/handles- all safely. I'd bet serious money Blueblir intended that when he stated: "how it pulls".

As far as length goes here in Utah if you are 72 feet , you are over length , it’s 65 feet in Utah , not sure what you read , but there is a long list of lengths for Utah , and 65 feet is listed as all other combinations including recreational vehicles. So you are over at 72 , but I see many that are here in Utah , Idaho , and Montana where I am usually at towing my double . I am right at 65 with my setup .

Exactly. Thank you. At least I am doing some research and asking questions instead of just going. I
Know people that pull two bumper pull trailers with a 1/2 ton truck which again is legal in Colorado and Utah that seems sketchy. But what do I know
