Winterizing RV pump lost prime

I was winterizing my 2019 3791RD this morning after draining water lines and hot water heater. I did not have any issues with kitchen/bathroom sink/shower. I decided to hook up to the washer cold line next and run hose to commode. I had at least a 1/2 jug of anti-freeze if not more in container when starting on this line. When i opened the valve the pump starteded running after a solid minute i was not getting any antifreeze coming out.
1) could the pump have lost prime. How to remedy this
2) could the pump diaphragm or some other mechanical mis hap taken place
3) how to access pump to inspect

Any help appreciated

Frank

Put another washer in the winterizing port. Sometimes it needs 2 to make a good seal.

Frank, your pump should be located pretty close behind the convenience center panel. You can remove the panel in the basement pass through to get to it. It's odd that the pump would be the problem, but I have read about a check valve on these pumps that has a tendency to go bad. Assuming that's the case, it could have lost prime and you would need to raise the jug of pink stuff to let gravity help it in until it gets prime again.

That’s a good suggestion RMcNeal. I will try and reprime the pump. Will keep you posted

Good Deal. I've never run into the problem yet, but it's good to know that reading all these posts was helpful.
