Solar Advise

We have a 2021 3761FL. It has solar prep and the install looks pretty simple. Question is where can I purchase and is Jaboni the best brand. I don’t what size my inverter is. I’ll have to run by storage and check. My goal is to help /assist my battery charge while sitting in short term storage.
Thanks

My unit gets left in storage for up to 4 months at a time in Kansas City, Mo. Winters here are not as cold as they use to be, but we'll get several days close to 0-degree F. All I have ever done is disconnect the negative cable off the fully charged battery. Never failed me yet.
If keeping your battery charged is your only concern, I believe simple solutions are the best and most cost effective. Leaves a lot less stuff to fail.

I've had good luck with Renogy panels and charge controllers in two different RV's.

We have the Super Solar. I believe we have Jaboni panels and they work great. However, they have had issues with the Jaboni charge controllers and switched ours to Victron 50 amp controllers. The advantage is they work on the same Victron app as the Battery meter. They are Bluetooth. Best of luck.

Wow. That is a very nice and neat set up. So did you relocate your batteries? Ours came with two Lead Acid located in front of rig.

Thank you. I actually eliminated the two LA batteries altogether. The two 2 GA wires in the blue loom go across the ceiling to the front bay where the batteries were. I have a plastic storage tub screwed to the floor where the batteries were. The six lithiums run the entire rig.

Can you run your bedroom AC off your solar/battery/inverter

I have solar set up in my 2018 3701lk.
400 watts running into 2 lifePo batteries.
Mine re also Renogy with a Renogy Mppt, and renogy 1000 watt inverter?
My question is, can we run the front bedroom AC off of these batteries?

You have some serious s*%# in your basement. Go big or go home. I am guessing a 1000 watt inverter and a 40 amp mppt will not hack the mission here for me.

Super Solar came with 540 ah of Battleborn batteries, 3000 watt inverterer, two 50 amp solar charge controllers, Victron BMV battery monitor and four 300 watt panels. We are power users, so about every other day I still run the generators an hour. Today we had clouds and rain and we ran generators for two hours. We are loving it. Our neighbor has the same setup but has a Mr. Buddy inside for heat and uses about 50 amps per day less. He was not using his generator at all and was getting back to full charge. I got over 4 kWh from my panels for my best day this trip.

my solar installation

This summer I will be installing all Victron solar system.
4 - 350watt bifacial Canadian solar panels
multi plus II 3000watt dual output inverter/charger
BMV-712 battery monitor which is Bluetooth
6- 100ah lithium batteries, I would recommend battleborn batteries. I am using Relion because I get a huge discount on them.
4 MPPT charge controllers 1 per panel so I don't have to worry about shading.
gerbo cx and display panel for total system control and information
30amp DC to DC charger so I can charge 30 amps from the truck
and other misc. items. We will be fulltime when I retire.
by the way we have the same rig! 3761FL. WE LOVE IT!
my planning Delima right now is where i will put it all. I was planning on the front generator bay, but it is not temperature controlled. We had a considerable temp swing about a month ago, everything was condensing in the bay and i had to put a heater in to warm the area and dry it out. So I don't think that is a good option. Still considering a location
Good Luck with your system!

My setup is more for a marathon than a sprint. While I'm quite sure it would run one AC I intentionally did not wire it that way as I wanted unrationed power to run everything else. It takes a lot of battery to run an AC unit for a significant amount of time.

My AC's, water heater, clothes dryer and obviously convertor run off nothing but shore power/portable generator. Virtually everything else runs through the solar system. I wired my transfer switch so when "normally closed" everything goes through the power inverter. When I connect to shore power the transfer switch engages and puts everything on shore power totally bypassing the power inverter. It's served us well like this. Unless we need AC or are doing laundry we never need to run the generator. It allows you to live like you're plugged in.... in some really beautiful spots. We've spent months off the cord only running the generator for laundry. Here is just a small sampling of our "off the grid" spots over the last year. All totally free.....

I just ordered a rig with the super solar. Thanks for the feedback, I was wondering if it would meet the needs for us When off grid. I was thinking that I would have to add batteries or panels or both. Since the rig is still on the line I have not got to test it in real world conditions.
