Solar receptacle

I have a 2019 High Country 384BR. I have just scheduled a fridge upgrade with J.C. Refrigeration for my Dometic 1350SL. Tired of fridge temps in the low to mid 40's on hot days. I have pretty much tried everything posted on here to make the original RV fridge work without success.
I decided to go with the 12V dual compressor system after several conversations with J.C. They are also going to install a 2nd lead acid battery. I am plugged in to shore power 85% of the time and also have 2-2000 watt inverter/gens.
I have a solar receptacle in the convenience center and am considering purchasing a portable solar panel to use when dry camping. I would use the generators for high draw items, use the solar panel to keep the batteries charged during the day, and run the generators for a full charge before turning them off at night.
If I plug a 100-150 watt solar panel into the receptacle will that charge my batterries? Does that go directly to the batteries or through the converter?

My understanding is that port goes directly to the batteries. See the picture below. 400 watts of solar would keep my 100 AH batteries fully charged as long as there's sun. You might consider upgrading to lithium batteries. 25 minuets of charge per 10% of discharge and your voltage never drops below 12.5 volts!

I bought 2 of these and so far they work great.

100 watts will work if there is no draw and could take a couple of days to fully charge depending on conditions. You will get approximately 5 amps output with a 100 watt panel Either get lithium with the panel or wait until your lead acids are dead then get the lithium batteries and the solar panel, if you just want to maintain your lead acids when the camper is not is use and not plugged in, the 100 watt solar panel would be just fine for that.

also if you buy a solar panel make sure is has the controller built into it then all you have to do is plug it and you will be good to go. Zamp panels is what i believe keystone uses. https://www.zampsolar.com.

good luck let us know what you do and how it works

Thanks for the info. I will talk to J.C. Refrigeration some more when i go there Friday for the fridge upgrade. They have told me my batteries will be OK overnight if I run my generators to charge them first before going to bed.

Well....lets us know. Sounds like a salesman's answer to me. I doubt the res fridge is going to be kind to your LA batteries in any hot climate.
