CC2 Dometic Thermostat

I have a dometic CC2 thermostat and am trying to use the furnace. The cooling system shows up on the thermostat but when I try to change the mode to furnace, nothing happen. Same thing with fan button. It does not work. Am I doing something wrong? I have the propane on and working. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what version of the Dometic Capacitive Touch thermostat you have - but the pic below is one the OEM Dometic thermostats that came in my unit. . I would have to remove the face plates and just touch the metal prongs (circled in red) to cycle thru the settings.

The bedroom thermostat got funky first...the living room T-stat was not much better. I have since replaced both with MicroAir thermostats. I took this pic while I was replacing one of the T-stats and had turned off the AC breaker and maybe pulled the fuse...therefore the display is totally blank with no icons.

Could you be a bit more specific with “touch the prongs” as I’m not quite sure what you mean. Thanks for replying!

Are you using the wall thermostat in the living room or the one in the bedroom?
The living room one controls the air conditioner, heat pump, and furnace.
The bedroom one only does air conditioning.
You must select "auto" first.

Madmax: I am pretty sure your 2013 doesn't have the capacitive touch thermostat that caused so much trouble. Those came much later. It really helps if you add your Year and model to your signature.

Your style thermostat usually shifts through the various functions by pressing the Mode button. If Furnace isn't coming up there must be a reason. Here is a link to the manual for your thermostat https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...?do=file&id=47 (there are three thermostat manuals in the Files section. This my best guess to the one you have).

Hopefully someone more experienced is debugging a thermostat/furnace issue will come along shortly.

I have a 2013 3582RL. There is only one thermostat which is located beside the steps going to the bedroom. It controls both zones in the trailer and as you mentioned, shifts through the various modes. Currently, I can only get the cool mode to show up.

Just to update my post above - the pic I included of my OEM Dometic thermostat is the second pictured below (circled in yellow). The black cover pulls straight off to reveal the guts like my original pic shows. I think you have a different Tstat than mine. This screen shot is from the MicroAir website but I think it shows several versions of Dometic thermostats. I should have consulted these pics before I tried to answer your question because you did clearly state that you had a CC2 thermostat which is the first one in the screen shot. Sorry for the confusion.

My thermostat is the top picture - the Dometic CCC2.

Problem solved. I found an old post from Iwannacamp. To fix problem turn thermostat off, then depress the mode and zone button at the same time and then turning the thermostat back on while doing that. An illegible word pops up on the display meaning that the thermostat has been reset. It works perfectly now. Thanks Iwannacamp and all those that offered help!

So I thought I had the problem solved but as it turns out, I have been having to go through this process fairly regularly because otherwise I can’t change modes. Has anyone encountered this issue?

Your CCC2 thermostat communicates up to the TWO roof A/C units... Zone 1 Roof A/C also is whjere the two blue SIGNAL wires are located that run down to the furnace control board

Zone 1 is piuggy backed over to your other roof A/C unit ( Zone 2)

A 4 wire telephone cable is used from the CCC2 up to Zone 1 and then over to Zone 2

This forms your CANBUS network for the thermostat and two roof mounted A/C unit control modules

the RESET you did on the CCC2 simply re-establishes the CANBUS network

The Roof A/C units have 12 volts DC power to them ALL the time if battery is connected or shore power is connected ( converter output)..

A hard Reset of the entire CANBUS is done by disconnecting shore power AND battery power and wait a minute or so and then reconnect..

If your issue still returns from time to time then next step is get on the roof and check the gateway connections to those two roof A/C units....

Your gateways "May" also be located inside the return duct on the ceiling if this is a ducted unit or inside the removeable grill on the A/C inside if non ducted

Those thermostats are useless. pull off the faceplate and control by touching the now exposed prongs. Then go order a MicroAir thermostat to have a real smart thermostat.

bcrvman is recommending the same method I mentioned in post #2…but I have no idea if the CC2 has prongs behind the face plate to touch like the Dometic CT that I had (see pic post #2).

Actually the CCC2 Dometic thermostat is a very good one.. it is not like the single zone capacitive touch units... If mine were to fail (2014 RV) then I would upgrade to the Microair but its now 2022 and I will keep the cash in my pocket for now

As you will note in my last post, I did a hard reset and the thermostat is now working properly.
