Best silicone sealant for side walls

What's the general consensus on sealant for side walls, around door frames, etc?
I heard Sika Flex, Geocel Pro Flex RV, Lexcel silicone and just plain old GE 100% Silicone sealant.
All the clear silicone on side walls has dirty spots that I think may be mold. I am resealing the roof with Dicor starting tomorrow. I also want to pull off the old Silicone and replace with something that looks better. Any opinions or "stay away from" advice?

A word about silicone. I used some GE silicone a while back. After a week, it had still not cured, just a soft gooey mess. I called the help number....bottom line for GE silicone, if it is past the expiration date on the tube, it will not cure. GE's expiration date is a true expiration date....throw it out if past that date, it will not work.

I used a bit of silicone when I installed my new backup camera some months back. I had a small tube I wanted to use up. It dripped for months. I did not know silicone would do that…now I know…it must have been out of expiration. The things you learn on this forum! I thought silicone was forever!

My comment is for GE only....I don't know about any of the others. They may or not react the same way.

Do NOT use Pro Flex RV.
I preped the surface, cleaned it thuroughly, clean with alcohol. Put the ProFlex RV on it. Just a few months later its shrinking and pealing out.
I will have to scrape it out and redo it with something else.
The original sealant for the most part (90% or more) is in very good shape and is still pliable. Wish i knew what Montana used in 2019.

Thanks Daryl - I was considering purchasing some Pro Flex RV myself. Like others, I'll be looking forward to what would be good to use and what to watch out for.

Thanks for the responses. I was actually leaning toward the Geocel Pro Flex, until reading this. Just to be clear, I'm using Dicor Self Leveling lap sealant on the roof, and non-sagging on the sides of the roof at the gutters. The silicone in question is for the sides around baggage doors and such.

I also wish I knew what was used on the 2019's. It has held up well, but mine is really dirty looking with dark spots in it.
Any chance Sam (Mootana) is reading this and can chime in with advice?

Just learned that Dicor makes a cap sealant for windows and doors, but I can't find it in clear, only white and black. Has anyone used it?

Sam got back to me and said use 100% silicone. He wouldn't name a brand.

RV Roof man no sag sealant is the best product on the market based on my research, and its what I use. Here is a link to their web site: https://thervroofman.com/

You have to do your own research, but no other product has a warranty!

Well I scraped out all the ProFlexRV that I put on about 6 months ago. It pealed, shrank and became hard as rock. No flex.

I bought a tube of Big Stretch (Lowes) after reading product reviews and watching their video.

https://www.sashco.com/products/big-stretch/

I wanted something that was going to flex with this rolling earthquake called a Montana.
Goes on easy. Drys clear. Good adhesion so far (1 week).
Let's see how it holds up.
Again I only used it to touch up a few places. 95% of the original factory sealant is good.

As far as Silicone sealant I use a MARINE grade silicone. It is much stronger than most Silicone sealants. It remains removable as long as you get the clear. The white is “ permanent “. Make sure it is fresh. It cures rather quickly so do three to five feet at a time if you smooth it out and clean off excess. This stuff is tuff, stiffer than typical silicone, but still flexible. It is impervious to water, uv sun rays, chemicals. It will last for years. It might take some elbow grease to take it off, but you can get it off. As I replace the factory silicone that is literally falling off my 5er like spaghetti noodles, I am using the marine silicone. Have used marine silicone for years and have not found anything stronger, tuffer and easy to work with. I recommend you give it a try.

I used flex seal, clear, actually the flex shot you don't need a caulking gun for that. I used it around my baggage doors. So far so good. The geocel pro flex rv stuff is junk it Cracked and dried up, no flex and it just fell out little by little in the weeks to come

I was always told not to use silicone on my RV The reason being that silicone will not seal on itself. If you ever have to repair the spot again ever bit of the old silicone must be removed before the new will stick. This is not a problem with Dicore sealant. JMI

[I want to AGREE with Bnrc73 REGARDING BEING TOLD NOT TO USE SILICONE.
So I'm confused BY Folbak and Sam saying 100% silicone. DICOR website Does NOT identify this suggested 353CSCL product as silicone but as a paintable CAULK.
I would like to try it someday and also the "BIGSTRETCH"
Daryles SUGGESTED.
I HAVE USED ProflexRV with mixed results and impressions that my RV Dealer suggest.
Unable to get that another dealer told me.to pickup LEXEL at Lowes. It came in squeeze tube 5oz. Tube and 10.5oz. caulk tube. FIRST IMPRESSIONS GOOD.
THE clear sealer Montana used on my 2017 on side trim sure appears to be silicone. It rubs off like silicone at edges where thin, but is a bear to remove totally. Also gets that dirty look that I clean by wiping off with thinner.
IMHO I have NO answers but I'm trying the products suggested. So I will soon have an opinion MAYBE.
