Wax on slideout sides? yes or no?

I have a guy here today washing and waxing my Monte. It looks real good! I told him I would run the slides out when he is ready, and he said that he basically cleans them and wipes them down. He says that wax on a slide tend to grab the rubber seals and cause damage. Hmmm ? Maybe - Maybe not.

I was wondering what the wise consensus opinion is here on that topic?
Wax on? or Wax off?
Full disclosure...I have waxed the sides in the past and never noticed a problem. I did it to try to prevent the black rubber marks.

I wax mine. I would think the seals would slide easier with less binding on a smooth surface vs. a rough one.
