Or most states if you want to ever sell or trade it. I guess you can put it back together at that time, maybe.

Texas even takes a very dim view of it:

Quote:
Texas law prohibits any person from selling, offering for sale, leasing, or offering to lease any vehicle not equipped with all emission control systems or devices in good operable condition. Violators are subject to penalties under the Texas Clean Air Act of up to $25,000 per violation. Buyers are advised to have the vehicle checked for all required emission control devices prior to purchasing a new or used vehicle.

A vehicle may not be legally sold if its original engine has been replaced with another certified engine but without the related emission control components. Tampering includes the failure to install the emission controls associated with an engine configuration.

Most farmers are standing in line to get a deleted emissions on a diesel truck. I bet in Texas no one ever looks for trucks and cars that have been deleted. I have a GMC dually and I have no problems with the emissions but on another truck I did and I deleted the emissions, truck got better fuel mileage plus the oil looked like oil instead of black oil. My GMC costs to much to delete the emissions, a Ford the emissions are easily deleted. Prices are going to be high as long as diesel is high, diesel touch’s everything in America. I saw from Marketwatch that we have a 19 day supply of diesel. If one refinery shuts down soon more than a few people might go hungry, Walmart’s inventory is on a truck. All the grocery stores have no inventory in the back, it’s on the shelf or on a truck. If I was in the oil business I would not want to drill more I would want to keep prices high. I normally buy the cheapest def but it’s all higher now compared to last year
