Hydraulic lines
Just wanted to get some opinions regarding condition issues with hydraulic lines. On our 3800, manufactured in mid 2012, I have noticed the orange and black covering to be split or degraded and showing the braided interior of the lines in both propane tank areas. Haven't checked by the pump this morning or in the belly of the beast. Obviously, I am going to have to replace the lines if and when we sell it...but how concerned should I be at this point? John

I would not be to be concerned at all. The orange or black coating is just to protect objects from rubbing and eventually fraying the braid. The braid is what actually keeps the hose from expanding and rupturing under hydraulic pressure. Only thing I would do is cover the worn areas exposing the braid with a couple of wraps of Gorilla tape.

X3 ... the plastic covering is just cosmetic. Plus I'd not worry about replacing lines upon sale ... not going to matter.

Thanks guys! You have the same opinion as I do on no loss on the OEM hoses, but trusted collective opinions are of a higher factor than my solo opinion. If I decide to change out those hoses that go to the front levelers at some point, it will be due to a couple of rusted connections and better hoses than the OEM. John, who is currently parked in Tucson for this winter instead of swimming florida.
