Ken,

The blower motor and fan tend to be a little loud. I would try to find another Montana owner to listen to it and let you know if yours is normal.

My experience with my last unit , I had same problem and found a few fins on the cage were broken as its only plastic. They call it the gerbal cage and was not very expensive to replace. I would check this first.

I have heard the furnaces of a couple of new Montana units that have been parked close to our location here in this RV park, and the noise isn’t from the fan but it is just a roar of the burner, which I don’t believe there is a fix for, short of installing a different model of furnace.

We had two of us parked side to side, but offset, so the furnace noise pointed down the street. I did get a comment from one of the neighbors. Luckily he has the loudest heat pump I've ever heard.

IMO they are a bit noisy because we are never far from the furnace.

In reality all RV furnaces are noisy. The difference is in the placement inside the rig. When we first got our HC we were pleased at how much quieter the furnace is compared to previous trailers. Then we stood outside and heard how loud it really is. The placement of our furnace just makes it quieter inside than others we've experienced.

If you can get under the belly you might be able to place some rigid insulation around the furnace to buffer the interior noise. I don't know if there's room for that but if it were me I would definitely take a look.
