another battery ?

we have a 2021 3231ck legecy. this solar thing has me so confused, i was under the impression that the solar would keep the battery charged while in storage. i went to get it out of storage and the jacks would not move the panel said low voltage. but the whole time in storage i would go and check it about every couple of weeks and it showed 13 volts or better. it is a agm battery. and if the solar dont keep the battery charged what does the solar do for me. by the way when i pushed the button to raise the jacks to hook up the truck the voltage would show 6 volts. I bought the montana new so the batterys are only 2 years old.

How much solar do you have?
What is your battery capacity?
Is it covered Storage?
did you verify that your solar is charging while in storage?
What is on while in storage?

thats what i mean Im clueless on this solar. i think the solar is 110 whatever was standard on that year. It is just 1 panal. it is not covered in storage and i disconnected the key and turned off the battery switch by the battery. the jack panel is the one that says the battery is at 14 plus volts. other than that i dont know how to verify its charging.

If you have sun and no current draw the solar should keep them charged. You have solar flex 200.

https://www.keystonerv.com/solarflex-200-overview
Download the Victron solar controller app. It will tell you how its producing. Do you have a residential fridge? Not sure if res is available on a 200 watt system. If so is the inverter off? If you leave the inverter on the fridge will kill your batteries. You have to turn the inverter off using the inverter battery disconnect. Is the solar working? That would be my question. The app will tell you. The other thing to check is the condition of the battery. It could have a shorted cell. Charge it or them and have it tested. There is a solar fuse somewhere. Test it.

I assume you mean the inverter was turned off. The inverter if equipped inverts 12 volts DC to 120 AC. The converter charges the batteries when plugged into shore power. I'm not familiar with the Jabona controller. But make sure it's on otherwise it won't charge the batteries.

Yeah I still don't have all that stuff straight, I'm a slow learner when it comes to electric. So I guess the best way to know for sure is to keep a eye on the batteries with a volt meter

Charge the batteries and load test them using one of these.

Nebfox, I have a couple of suggestions. First, spend a few bucks and install a Victron Battery Monitor. That way you can tell what is really going on with your batteries. You will know how much is going into them and what is going out. Second, join the Factory Montana Solar page on Facebook. Matt Wolkins of Future Sales monitors that (they provide the system). And, if you haven’t already done it, download the Keystone app and the manual on solar flex 200. The Jaboni solar charge controllers were failing in 2021 (one of ours did). With a meter you can check incoming voltage, you would need a DC clamp meter to check amperage. Best of luck.
