Hydrolic Cylinder repair

Rough couple of days. Got home intact. The slide still isn't working in the living room. it looks like the frame side of the cylinder has detached itself. Has anybody accessed the underside of their trailer to access the inside end of the cylinder? How is the best way to do that? I suppose I'm going to have to pull the bottom off the trailer. Suggestions...

I have a 2018 3810MS.

Thanks,

Russ

You'll have to remove the cloroplast adjacent to where the hydraulic ram attaches to the slide. Been there...done that twice.

Here's a YouTube video for replacing the cylinder from Lippert. You should be able to get a good idea of what's going on from it.

Okay, it wasn't terrible. I ended up cutting a small hole in the Cloroplast to access the area. Once I did that, it was obvious what the problem was. The nut had come off the end of the cylinder allowing the ram to drop from the attachment point. Not much good there. I replaced the nut and sealed up the hole and all is good again. The slide actually works better than it did. I suspect the nut had been lose for a long time.

Great. That sounds like an easy fix.
