Closet clothes rod
On our annual shakedown before our summer travels wife noticed the closet ceiling coming down. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the center support for the clothes rod is at the center of where the ceiling paneling has dropped down. I noted also that we had relatively few (less than 15) hangers of clothes on the rod. Most of which had slid to the center where the support is.
There is obviously a limited amount of space to screw into the ceiling in this area that has dropped. Any suggestions as to a fix? Not something that I just want to fix cosmetically. Adding a second bracket might help but would make accessing the clothes more difficult. Not sure where I would find another bracket.
Suggestions from our membership, please? I know many of you are brilliant at coming up with ideas!
Thanks in advance.

ByronB - just curious - what model is your RV? Is it a front closet model?
I do not have a front closet model - but when you said "wife noticed the closet ceiling coming down" - my first thought was to look at the possibility of a leak at the front cap/roof joint.
However - other folks here that have a front closet may have better suggestions for a fix. I would be concerned about finding the proper structure/studs to tie a new support to for the rod. That ceiling paneling offers ZERO structural support.

We have a front living room. Bedroom is in the rear. The closet runs the entire width of the far back end. On our maiden voyage, the entire closet shelf, cloths bar and everything collapsed completely.
Long, long story made short: I put a support on each end of the closet shelf and Liquid Nails attached the boards to the wall. Then run from the bottom of the closet floor to the bottom of the shelf, which also supports the cloths bar. In those boards, I accomidated a cut-out for the cloths bar at each end. This took all the weight of the cloths off the shelf and onto the upright support.
The cloths bar is attached to the underside of the shelf. The shelf itself was still sagging in the middle where the cloths bar is attached also. Although it meant cutting the closet into 2 sections, I added an additional support with 1x 12 from the floor to the bottom of the shelf, with a hole in the middle to support the cloths bar, again so it's weight would not be on the shelf, but completely on the upright support from the floor.
It worked. It did take some careful rigging to get that cloths bar through the holes in those boards and still attach to the under side of the shelf, but I finally got it.
Ever since, the cloths bar has been rock solid, in spite of the massive amounts of bouncing that happens at the tail end of a 41 foot trailer.
My suggestion for you. Forget completely about reattaching to the ceiling. Functionality is far more important than appearance. Rebuild the closet yourself, supporting the cloths bar from the floor up and disconnect it completely from the ceiling (if that's how yours is attached).

Here is what I did but you should also beef up each end cap otherwise they will eventually fail. They are very cheaply crafted and cannot support the weight even with the updated support.

This happened to me the first trip with our rig and the rod came down with all our clothes. I ended up removing the paneling and there was no solid wood for the closet rod center support to screw into. The support was just screwed into the overhead paneling. I put a length of 2x2 and secured it to the closet front and back. Used a brad nailer to put back up the paneling. Have not had a problem since. I can't imagine the manufacturer not installing a solid support for the rod center support.

We just got our new 2022 Montana last Wednesday. The closet clothing bar now comes with two supports rather than one in the middle. So Keystone acknowledges it is an issue.

I had the same problem, the mount was tearing out of the ceiling and pulling the ceiling down in the closet. I bought one of these telescoping rods, drilled a hole thru the hanging rod and inserted it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...TF8&th=1&psc=1
I bought a rubber cup like you put under furniture or chairs and screwed it to the floor to make sure the rod didn't slide out of place. Have NOT had any issues and it was a quick and cheap fix.

I never had the center support fall down but I did notice I slight sag in it do to the amount of clothes my wife takes along. What I did was braced the center with 1 1/2” PVC pipe from the bottom of the hanging rod to the floor. On the top of the pipe, I cut a pvc T fitting so it is open and cradles the hanging rod. On the bottom I clamp a rubber end cap on like a foot so the pipe doesn’t kick out or damage the floor. I then painted the pvc a mocha brown to make it look a little more like it belongs there
