Interior Painting

My wife and I have decided, after owning our 3582RL for 7 years , that we want to paint the interior. My question is; Is there any specific prep we need to do to the (I assume) vinyl wall covering and the wood trim? I plan on a light sanding of the trim but am unsure if I should use a primer first on the walls and trim. Anyone who has done this before I would love to hear from. Both mistakes and successes. Thanks!

As a painting contractor of over 25 years ( now happily retired lol)I would use a high quality primer. Water base will work fine. Something like gripper from Home Depot is good. Clean off the vinyl and apply primer then finish of choice. For the trim work lightly sand clean off and apply the primer, then finish of choice. Fine nap rollers and a good quality finish brush like a purdy.

There you go. After 25 years he knows how to paint. You can’t beat a man at his trade.

What do you suggest for the oak-looking cabinets to use after cleaning with krude kutter? Also for painting the walls, should I use a cleaner on the walls first the the Gripper product?
