Battery Storage Charging Thoughts
So I have one 12V Super Start 31-5T Fleet and HD lead acid house battery in the Monty, CCA-950, CA-1170, reserve 175 minutes and will be adding a second in parallel. I plan to install a knife disconnect on the negative side. I want to add a stand alone maintenance charger to use when off power and in storage so I would like thoughts and opinions on the Progressive Dynamics 9200 power converter w/charge wizard or does this sound like overkill?

If you can plug your rig into a power source while in storage, you don’t need to do a thing extra. You would be much better off using a deep cycle battery or batteries rather than a starting battery, as starting batteries are only designed to momentarily power a starter in a car or truck. Also, batteries ganged together should be of the same age and type to avoid one battery hogging the load. The multistage chargers in these rigs are great and will maintain the batteries.

Yes it would be awesome to plug into 50a but the only power available is a 15a 120v outlet.

A15 amp will be all you need to charge batteries, and run lights as well, while in storage.

Not a problem. Use dogbone adapters to take your 50 cord to 30 and then a 15 amp and plug in. 15 amps is more than enough to run the converter which does a wonderful job of charging your batteries.

That is all you need to keep the battery,s charged you don't need to be plugged into 50amps 15amp will work just fine.

I agree with the original poster in regards to not having the coach plugged into shorepower during storage. For me, I don't want the inverter and all the 'bits' within the coach powered. From the perspective of fire, I'd prefer to have an aggressive mouse not result in my storage shed burning to the ground.
I personally don't like the Progressive Dynamics 9200 for this use case as it has moving parts. I went with BatteryMinder 2/4/8 amp. No moving parts and hyper easy to install within the coach.
I put the BatteryMinder in both the coach and the semi I was using to pull a toyhauler around. On the 8 amp setting it easily kept up with 4 separate batteries in the semi even without disconnect (the volvo really didn't like to sit without the chassis being lite).
That would be my vote

Not really much difference being in storage or being lived in full time.
