Traveling through Yosemite
We're near Carson City, NV and want to see the east part of the park - spend a few days at a CG near Bridgeport to Lee Vining, CA. Problem is, we need to get to the west side of the park next, to visit relatives near La Grange. I've measured our height at 13' 4" and can't find enough information to feel comfortable with anything but going all the way around. I'm pretty certain the most direct route (CA 120) won't work. Any suggestions?

Already looked there - although there's posts on other forums of people towing through on 120 by doing the tunnels via the middle of the road, I'm not going to try that. Just wondering what other ways would work. CA 108? CA 89 and 88? Or US 50 and CA 49?

We have taken 88 from Carson City, the last time was after the last rally in Jackson, but going the other direction. It is a good road, a little curvy in places, but just don't get in a big hurry. When you get to Jackson, take 49 south to 120, and that will take you to the park. You definitely don't want to pull a Montana across 120 on the east side.

We did 120 east west wasn't, fun hard on the brakes. Don't use 49 south from 120, we did big mistake.

I've towed by 5'er on hwy 50 from South Lake Tahoe from Sacramento without any problems. Coming up from 395 going West on 50 have not been on. The other way up to Tahoe is the Kingsbury grade is a pretty good uphill pull. Hwy 80 out of Reno should work, If I remember it it the right way.
