Kitchen backsplash upgrade
We have had an issue with the appearance and quality of the fake tile backsplash in our 331RL since we purchased it. Decided to remove the fake stuff and do a little cosmetic upgrade. Not 100% complete but almost there.

Is that real tile or peel and stick?

That looks like real tile, but what are you adhering it to the wall with? And what are you using for grout. Cement for tiles and traditional grout will crumble with all the movement a camper takes when bouncing down the road.
And oh, FYI, it looks real nice!

It is real tile. I have adhered it to the wall with Extra strength liquid nails. I didn't use tile adhesive for fear it would fall off. It's not going anywhere with liquid nails. For grout I used a siliconized grout for the interior grout lines. For the perimeter I will use matching latex caulk to allow for some flexing while traveling.

Wow! Good call! My Montana is being held together with Liquid Nails from one end to the other. You picked a good choice for glue! It will never come off! And water will never phase it.
You did a super job there! Excellent!

Nicely done. Did you remove your microwave or just work around it with the tiles?

I went around it. The way it is mounted flush to the wall made sense to leave it alone.

It looks really good. I have a similar project where I want to do a backsplash around the back of the stove with real tiles. I was a little worried about adhering it directly to the wall and was thinking about installing some type of backer board in between. I hadn't decided on what to use yet. Did you have any concerns with adhering directly to the wall? How did you apply the liquid nails? Did you apply it to each tile, or did you spread it with a putty knife or something? My tiles are on a sheet instead of individual. The liquid nails is a great idea.

Nice work, Sir. I hope my DW doesn't see this, or I know what I'll be working on next week!

The tile looks great. What did you use for tile. I'm planning on doing this in ours, but am concerned about the added weight of real tile.

Tile backsplash
Wow, that looks great! Good planning. I've been wanting to do something to replace the "decorative trim" around the fireplace. It looks like a steel belted radial weave to me and is an eyesore. Hopefully I can get it done and it turns out as well as your backsplash!

I put the liquid nails on the back of each tile and then pressed it to the wall. I don't think it will come off. It adheres really well.

It's real tile. After removing the old stuff, it added about 15-20 lbs of weight to our rig. About the same as a 12 pack!

That looks real cool. You answered a question I was going to ask because the fake stuff is peeling in mine also and was wondering what people have done. Well done.

Love the idea,. We just picked up a MHC 331RL also,2021, thanks for the idea. PS. Funny how we also have that little dent in our refrigerator, dang knob doesn't work, we went with a velcro strap.
