Batteries during storage
Hi Forum
My question is concerning battery storage once I’ve winterized rv
If I turn off both the battery disconnect and inverter off. Can I leave the batteries in my rig hooked up to rv and connect to a battery tender on a trickle charge ? Or do I have to remove them ? Just thinking if everything is turned off I can just hook to charger without removing. Any feedback back would help.

There are a lot of variables. If LA, most easy and nothing to think about all winter way is to fully charge the batteries and disconnect the negative cable.
You could do what you suggested, but there is risk of the battery going dead and being damaged from parasitic loads if the trickle charger was interrupted for some reason.
Lifepo4- would be a different answer.

I agree if lead acid just charge and disconnect the negative cable.

If you have power to the rig just leave the power on. The Converter will maintain the battery.
IF FLA you will need to check the water level occasionally.
IF lithium, they need a heater. If you charge lithium batteries when they are at or below freezing, it will destroy them.

Would keep on a charger only if you can regularly monitor the batteries. Otherwise charge and disconnect.

We have a 2010 3000RK with 2 batteries. I take them out and put in garage with a trickle charger every month or so.
