So we want to live in our 04 2955RL next winter, on our property in northern Washington state. My property is 3500 to 4200' elavation. We can get anywhere from 2'-4' of snow and temps. as low as -17 but more around 0. So my question. If I build a pole barn this summer to keep snow off of the 5ver roof, and install a good skirting around the edge, will we live through the winter? LOL, Would our heater be enough? to keep the inside livible?

We survived in our 06 3000RK for 4 days with temps down to about 10 degrees. Even with a 1800 watt electric heater we went through a bunch of propane. So can you do it, probably, but I would have a large propane tank set by the rig.

That's a good recommendation.

You want a large propane tank. When we were living in ours at 0 to -10 we were burning a tank a day with 2 1800 watt electric heaters going all the time.

Put sides on the pole barn, it will make a big difference. Also make it 50 amp, that way you can add some electric heaters.

Easier said then done. Property is off grid, Solar won't help under a barn so it's all about genorators. I'm trying to get the wife to move up there. So I have to make sure she is warm. I'll be running a diesel Gen.

X2 on the large propane tank.

Store your RV sewer hose & insulate a PVC sewer line (set with as much pitch as you can).
Get your water hookup and hose insulated and electrified
Probably need a de-humidifier.
Along with a couple of good electric heaters, I'd get something like a Mr Heater Big Buddy (great heater) on a 20gal tank to go under the trailer with skirting when gets real cold. With proper ventilation, you can use inside if desired, also.
Insulate door and Windows
Fan vent covers are nice to have, although you'll be under a roof.

Best of luck to you. I'm wintering here in the Ozarks, but no comparison with the kind of weather you're talking about.

There are some members who have or currently do winter in some very cold environments. Hopefully, they'll chime in.

How do you get water without electric? Don't all wells have pumps needing it? Just curious...

Septic tank is goining in this summer. I have a 500 gallon gravity fed cistern from a underground spring. I'll be drilling a well later. I have plenty of generator power. We are selling our house in Ca. And making the move out of California. Shelley wants to buy property in Oregon. But I've had this property in Washington since 1992 and would love to build at least a summer place there. 2 miles to my north (On the canadian border) theirs a guy with a 32' SOB and he lives there year round. But he installed a pellet stove in one of his sliders. I don't want to cut a hole in my 5ver.
